Klopp Pleased With Liverpool’s Resilience After West Ham Win

Liverpool came from a goal down to beat West Ham United 2-1 at Anfield on Saturday and head coach Jurgen Klopp was delighted with his team’s fighting spirit.

David Moyes’ men stunned the Premier League champions inside the opening ten minutes and kept Liverpool at bay until the 42nd minute when Mohamed Salah equalized from the penalty spot.

The game was heading for a stalemate before substitute Diogo Jota snatched the maximum points for the Reds on the 85th minute mark with his third goal at Anfield this season.

“The world is in a difficult place and we are happy to be allowed to play football. So we have to try everything to win football games. It's not about shining, or flying, or whatever, it's about hard work... that was absolutely necessary against this opponent,” the German coach said after the game.

“It's not about the simple stuff because they are too good for that - you need to be cheeky, tricky as well, and we were.

"We had a lot of good football - not 500 chances or whatever but enough. It's a real challenge for the concentration levels, and we did it. I don't want to see us in a moment be brilliant because it's not possible, I want to see us dig in and we did that, and i'm so, so happy.

Liverpool have won 29 of their past 30 top-flight matches at Anfield and have equalled their club record of 63 home league games unbeaten.
